Having arrived after dark, we had no idea what was out there beyond our windows. The place is an entire home with a nice yard and pen for my dog. Mary Beth very kindly left us fresh eggs and there was coffee and tea available to make in the kitchen. The most wonderful part of our stay however, was Joan. A great retreat space with a couple of pleasant surprises. Rustic without losing amenities. I will be going back! Robin is a talented artist and a fascinating person. Coming from the flatlands and waterways of Michigan, we can't help being blown away by the singular beauty of snow-capped mountains. The views, especially at sunset, are stunning. Wendy greeted us with delicious scones and fruit. We spent each evening cooking in the very well-equipped kitchen, enjoying drinks in the sitting areas, soaking in the hot tub, and chilling by the fire pit. Shirley Joan is an amazing lady with the gift of loving everyone. The host was so warm and thoughtful and Mt Princeton hot springs resort was only 15 min away. Volomi's place is a very convenient half-way point between Santa Fe and Taos. Absolutely loved eating dinner and breakfast with her and talking about everything from the area and her history with it, to politics, religion, family, animals and her community. It is a remarkable space, all the more so because Mary Beth built herself with a little help from her friends, of course. The listing description was accurate.
